Whither the CBC

I wonder about the rabid right these days.  It seems that they hate the CBC, as it is left-tilted and subsidized, but they routinely reference CBC reports exposing things like GM foods, medical malpractice and other wrongs on society.  They seldom reference the other media.

Is it because the CBC is doing a better job than the "free-enterprise" outlets?

  1. Is this supposed to be an example of your even-handedness with the political spectrum (reviewing your statement of purpose from the first blog post)?
I must say I was disappointed with this blog -- I was expecting something looking at historically significant events or at least interesting trivia, rather than current event rants.

  2. No one ever said that this blog was exclusively about history and since when is being critical the same as being biased.

There are many things that we can learn from modern discourse.

But not to disappoint you here, is a bit of trivia... did you know that the CBC was initially modeled on the provincially-owned radio station in Alberta? CKUA started in 1928 and ran for 70 years as a government funded organization, until 1997 when it became donor based. It still runs today.
